Hemorrhoid Home Treatment - What Can You Do At Home To Treat Hemorrhoids?

Hemorrhoid home treatment is an important part of your treatment since you are doing your part to control the hemorrhoids so they do not become worse. There are some things which you can do to relieve the pain, this might involve taking a pain reliever.

But remember that some pain relievers can make your hemorrhoids bleed more. These pain relievers are in the category of non steroidal anti inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs). Ibuprofen is one such drug. Aspirin can also make your hemorrhoid bleed more so beware. If you have to use a pain reliever use drugs like Tylenol that are not a NSAID but an acetaminophen.

Prevent The Hemorrhoids From Getting Worse

For this treatment, you can use a toilet paper. Moisten the toilet paper with water or with Balenol, a cleansing agent, and then blot the paper around the anus area. Do this cleaning regularly, particially after bowel movements. This is one way in which you can prevent the hemorrhoids from getting worse. You can also use baby wipes and towels that have been pre-moistened for this purpose.

Do not rub the anal area. You can use water to rinse in the shower and then use an absorbent towel that is soft to dry up the area. Also avoid using any soap that contains dyes and perfumes during your hemorrhoid home treatment.

Reduce Itching and Pain

For about ten minutes at a stretch, apply some ice to the affected area. After you do this, place a warm compress on the anus for ten to twenty minutes. Repeat this process several times a day.

Damp and warm towels should be applied on the affected area several times a day. Moist heat can really help with the pain.

You can also take a sitz bath by using warm water to sit in deep enough to cover up your anus. Soak yourself in this kind of bath for around fifteen minutes each time. Try not to make the water too warm, you want it to be comfortable for you.

Try taking several rests where you can ly down which will ease off pressure from your hemorrhoids. Lie on your side if you are pregnant. If you are not pregnant, then lie on your stomach. In this case, you can also place a pillow under your hips. This will help reduce the hemorrhoids.

These are some of the things you can do during hemorrhoid home treatment.
